THE CUSTOMER JOURNEY OF VOLGANIN
Volganin is the largest egg production and grading company in the Russian poultry industry («Rosptitsesoyuz»), a success story that started in the 1970s. With over forty years of knowledge and experience in the egg market, this Russian company is a frontrunner when it comes to implementing innovative solutions to ensure the quality of its product. And together with Moba, the company has reached outstanding results.
1.8 billion eggs per year
The first page of the history book about Volganin takes you back to the year 1978 when the first stage of the poultry factory was under construction on the grounds of the Volga farm. In 1984, the poultry factory and the Volga farm with 2,000 hectares of land, officially joined forces and combined both companies into one: the Volganin state farm. Now, the Russian company is the largest egg production and grading company in the country, with an overall production output of 1.5 billion eggs per year.
Through the many successes and expansions over the years, the company never lost its true focus – the consumers as the real value of the company. All the everyday efforts the company puts into the daily operation are to create useful, environmentally friendly and affordable products. And to accomplish this mission, the company continuously invests in high-tech equipment to ensure the quality of the products and in ways to expand the business. At the present moment, an investment program is being implemented, which aims to increase the gap from competitors and achieve an unprecedented result for Russia and Europe of production, grading and packing 1.8 billion eggs in 2022.
The cooperation with Moba over the past 16 years has shown us that we can achieve outstanding results through joint efforts. We have increased our capacities and are more flexible.
In search of the total solution
In 2004, Volganin crossed paths with Moba. “In our search for a new supplier, we collected some input from other poultry farms. We liked the high performance and reliability of the Moba equipment and the feedback we received from other poultry farms gave us the confidence that only Moba could provide us with constant and prompt technical support, which is critical for a continuous production process”, Mrs. Ludmilla Kosteva of Volganin explains the choice for the Omnia FT330 with a capacity of 120,000 eggs per hour. “But what gave Moba the edge over its competitors was that they were the only company that not only offered a high-tech grader but the total solution including casepackers.”
In 2018, Volganin invested in Moba MR12’s to minimize the human factor, to reduce labor costs and increase capacity. “The reason why we were attracted to the MR12, is the unique feature of the equipment to work with two different products. The range of our product brands and packages is very wide (more than 200 SKU), which requires the use of non-standard technologies. With the MR12 robot, the two product channels work independently of each other, which makes this system extremely flexible. We can now successfully combine the ever-increasing requirements of the consumer market in unique products with expanded production capabilities.”
With the help of Moba, Volganin has established a strong brand in Russia. “The cooperation with Moba over the past 16 years has shown us that we can achieve outstanding results through joint efforts. We have increased our capacities and are more flexible. Now we can offer our customers a wide range of products. We can only praise Moba for its significant contribution to the continuous development of our company.”
